Tv Series Review
The Boys
The Boys is a 2019 American television series developed by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video. The series is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It was published by the DC comics.
A parody of Superheroes
Superheroes are always considered to be the best. The best because they have such kind of tendency of protecting or helping the people and world. They are considered to be the kind of Gods in a fiction story. Their abilities amaze us and our world totally relies on them. But have you ever thought about the other side of what if superheroes tend to be bad ones? What if they are two faced and there are other people who try to stop them? Doesn’t make sense right but the series often offers a different kind of different spin to the some of the known archetypes like the fierce warrior queen or some kind of mega god running among us. So, this series also often indicates how we have developed such a blind trust in our superheroes.People developed such a perception that the superheroes cannot do bad and often are not consider humans but they are seen as a human god living among themselves.
The Boys contains such a world in which superheroes are considered to be someone which are ubiquitous and the development of such a dominance of them over the world. They often consider themselves to be proud and inevitable. Such group is established in the series often called ‘the Seven’ a group of superheroes which are often tamed by the most known ominous company known as ‘Vought” which is run and directed by a canny power broker known as Madelyn. These superheroes are being controlled and are advertised to a certain extent.
Like a little chit chat shows or the energy drink endorsements. The company is also trying in making their superheroes involve in the defence of their country by looking forward in the hopes of signing the contracts with the government.
In the series we are shown the positive face of the superheroes by the eyes of the admirers.Annie also known as Starlight a badass crime fighter played by (Erin Moriarty) a small town who often her selection in the Seven makes her more future seems to be more colorful but after facing some of the upsetting encounters and knowing the real face behind these costumed paragons superheroes things seemed to be different from the reality such as spreading of the bloodshed and infinite violence. Another character known as Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) not from the seven but a person who often wants the revenge from one of the superheroes as he passes through his girlfriend. A Train (Jessie Usher) has abilities like Flash and is just of hell of a runner who seemed to be very fast than the Sonic Hedgehog.
Although through the series the viewers get more concerned about knowing the dark side of every one of the superheroes.Another badass in the series which is loved by most of the viewers to see him banging the main antagonist of the series Homelander, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) an obscure CIA-type with a meandering Cockney articulation and an affection for swinging a crowbar. Butcher needs to reactivate his specially appointed enemy of superhuman unit the Boys and considers Hughie to be the principal likely to be selected. This wrenches up the strain that bubbles through the remainder of the eight-section arrangement. It is basically a story of Hitler killer fighting as Butcher, Hughie and some other startling partners attempt to outsmart adversaries with gigantic strength, X-beam vision and super-hearing. As gauge people, the Boys need to depend on tricky, innovative cold-blooded and blind luckiness.
Overall, the series contains lots of things which makes the viewer seem frustrated but apart from the bloodshed and the violence but the series is enjoyable because of the battles between two groups and this series often highlights the flaws of superheroes and there should be someone to break the belief of the people that super heroes possess good qualities and should expose the true image of them in front of the world. They should make them realize that there actions maybe do not have any impact on them but it will affect the world and the people.
